The Christmas town of Lucerne is festively decorated and the ice skating rink in front of the Culture and Concert Centre (KKL) is open. A host of events and markets spread Christmas cheer and bring a sparkle to the faces of young and old alike.
The lively region of Lucerne and Lake Lucerne is getting in the mood for Christmas: events such as the St. Nicholas Parade, the St. Nicholas Chase, carol singers and atmospheric holiday trips on the lake stoke up anticipation of the festival of love.
“Live on Ice” right next to the lake
One of the particular attractions is Live on Ice, the ice skating rink right next to the lake in front of the Culture and Concert Centre (KKL). Until 5 January 2014, you can skate loops and turn pirouettes here and soak up the festive atmosphere with Christmas trees and fairy lights. “Live on Ice” is presented by the world-renowned light artist Gerry Hofstetter.
Worth knowing: A guided city tour!
On the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th December, the popular two-hour Pine boughs and bright lights guided city tour is given at 16.00 each day. On it you will learn about the settings associated with the Lucerne Advent and Christmas time and listen to reflective and humorous tales connected with the Christmas customs.
