The New Year festivities in Interlaken last no less than three days, including a grand firework display and open-air concert on New Year’s Day. The BEST WESTERN Hotel Bernerhof offers you the opportunity to enjoy the spectacle for a package price of 199 Swiss francs per person for a 2-night stay. 

It all begins quite innocuously in Interlaken on 31 December with a gala dinner in one of the sophisticated restaurants or an unhurried fondue in a country-style pub.

At midnight, the corks begin to pop – but the party really gets into its stride on 1 January: the rapper Stress, 77 Bombay Street and Baschi will get their audience well and truly fired up for the first time in the New Year at the open-air concert on the Höhematte from 15.00. The musical event can be enjoyed free of charge from a standing place with a view of the giant screen. Those who would like to enjoy it in style can reserve a seat in the “Golden Circle” right in front of the stage. After the grand firework display at 19.45, the “After Party” on the first day of the New Year kicks off in the Kursaal Interlaken.

On 2 January, the annual Harder-Potschete procession takes place through Interlaken. In keeping with custom, participants wear traditional wooden masks. They drive evil spirits away from the region with much bellowing and shouting after which they meet up in the bars for a leisurely get-together.
